This was one of our favorite projects. It was a smaller one, but we couldn't resist it. It started when a nice woman contacted us because she needed some help with a few "issues" on her website. She had launched her website a few months before contacting us, and worked pretty hard on making it a strong presence in the market. The site owner is a stay at home mom with a couple of young kids, and spent most of her spare time working on this site. She was mostly just hoping to provide some help and advice to others like her, but also wanted to make a few bucks from selling ads.
The problem Mommies To Mommies was facing was called "success". The site was starting to get some decent traffic, but people were turning away pretty quickly. We took a look at her site and agreed with her assesment that it needed an overhaul. The problems were many: poor design, bad url structure, invalid html causing improper rendering in some browsers (which happen to be accounting for over 50% of her traffic!), and just an overall unpolished look to the site.
Mommies To Mommies isn't a venture-backed project so they couldn't afford much. So we dug into the code and got to work, this one was going to be pro bono!
